PEN Afrikaans, with the support of PEN International, presented a panel discussion on the multilingual poetry anthology ConVerse at Tuin van Digters (Garden of Poets), an annual poetry festival hosted by the Breytenbach Centre in Wellington.
Danie Marais, award-winning poet and vice-chair of PEN Afrikaans, engaged Siphokazi Jonas, Annel Pieterse, Jolyn Philips and Pieter Odendaal in a conversation about the anthology itself, the challenges faced and insights gained in translating the poems, and the state of South African poetry in general.
